Steps to Enroll at MSJC & Palomar Community College

  • Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC)
  • 1.  Apply online at Palomar (www.palomar.edu) & indicate high school graduation in 2017.

    2.  Contact TLC to enroll in First Year Experience (FYE) where student will meet with a counselor 760-744-1150 x3931.  Students can bypass this and meet with a counselor but it is highly recommended to go through the FYE program.

Admissions

You must have a high school diploma, GED, California High School Proficiency Exam Cert., or be 18 years of age.

 

TEST REQUIREMENTS

Placement test/orientation will be given prior to registration for classes.  Score does not affect admissions.  SAT and ACT tests are NOT required for admission.

 

GPA REQUIREMENTS

No specific grade point average is required for admission.

 

MAJORS / DEGRESS

  • Associate Degree (2yr/60 units) - University transfer track
  • Associate Degree - Enter Workforce
  • Certificates - 6 months to 2 years - Training that often does not require academic classes.  Medical, computer, skill trade...‚Äč

COSTS

Your cost of attending a community college will involve books and transportation since most students continue to live at home.  Students will pay a per unit fee, at this time the fee is $26 a unit.  Additional fees include health, student representation, ID card, and parking.

 

Application Time Line

April

  • Complete online application
  • English/Math Assessment
  • Orientation
  • Send current & final transcripts
  • Registration deadline (date you're able to pick classes)

Mid April thru Registration Date

  • Meet with Community College Counselor to work on your Course Plan based on your major and/or University goal after community college.
  • Register for classes on your registration date.  Delaying as much as a day may lead to not getting classes you are requesting and may lead to the number of semesters that you will have to attend.  You can have the section numbers identified ahead of time to be able to enter them on your date.
